The 5 WALK experiences for the February 18th WALK are explained here.
I was hungry and you gave me something to eat…
I was a stranger and you invited me in…
– Matthew 25:31-46
The Good Works WALK is not focused on distance and most of the WALK experiences are not very long. The WALK is primarily a community-building event focused on providing participants with a memorable experience that enlarges their perspective of poverty and homelessness in general and the particular situation of people struggling with poverty in rural Appalachia. The Good Works WALK has always been an inter-generational experience, including adults and children of all ages. As in previous years, we will have what we call “a mini-WALK” experience for people who want to participate but have difficulty walking.
